The Canadian Technology Institute for Academic Research (CTIAR) organizes a wide range of conferences, networking activities, and online discussions related to its conferences and events. These activities are designed to advance research, education, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence while fostering an inclusive and respectful academic environment.

Commitment to Respect and Inclusion
CTIAR is committed to providing a professional, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants. All attendees are expected to interact in a courteous and considerate manner, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical appearance, religious beliefs, abilities, or any other personal characteristic.
Prohibited Conduct
CTIAR strictly prohibits any form of abusive, discriminatory, or intimidating behavior directed toward participants, organizers, volunteers, sponsors, staff, or members of the local community.
- Verbal abuse, bullying, or offensive language
- Aggressive, threatening, or intimidating behavior
- Disrupting presentations, sessions, or conference activities
- Unwelcome sexual attention or inappropriate physical contact
- Stalking, harassment, or deliberate intimidation (online or in person)
- Displaying sexually explicit or racially insensitive materials in public spaces
- Encouraging, endorsing, or tolerating any prohibited behavior
Community Responsibility
All individuals and organizations participating in CTIAR events are expected to comply with this code of conduct. Participants are encouraged to actively discourage inappropriate behavior and to raise awareness of this code when necessary.
Individuals asked to stop inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately. Sponsors and partners are also required to adhere to these standards in their event participation.
Enforcement and Reporting
CTIAR representatives are authorized to take appropriate action to address violations of this code. Actions may include issuing warnings, removing individuals from events, revoking access privileges, or contacting local law enforcement when necessary.
To report conduct that violates this code, participants should immediately inform a CTIAR representative at the event or contact the CTIAR Executive Director or an authorized officer. Complaints will be reviewed by a subcommittee of the Executive Council, and serious matters may be referred to law enforcement.
